2026 Gateway Dink Off
Based on registrations, we will have a mixed doubles tournament only on Saturday June 6, 2026l – Advanced beginners & intermediate players (under 3.5 DUPR) welcome!.

The preliminary plan was to have Women's Doubles on Thursday evening, Men's Doubles on Friday evening, and Mixed Doubles on Saturday. We are changing this to Mixed Doubles Only on Saturday.

Each player must register seperately for the tournament.

This tournament is a doubles only tournament. If you want to play and do not have a partner, you may sign-up as a single registrant. We will seek to match you with another single registrant as a partner. If we are unable to do so, we will refund your registration fee.

Each partner in a doubles team must register individually and include your partner's name in your registration.

If we have enough players we will offer two divisions: Advanced Beginner and Intermediate. 

This tournament is designed for recreational players below a 3.5 DUPR rating. If you don't know your DUPR rating that is fine. If you know your rating, you may be at 3.5 or above.

Level One: Advanced Beginner: Understands the rules of the game, can serve consistently, can maintain a multishot rally, can dink.

Level Two: Intermediate: Can sustain a dink rally, can hit a thrid shot drop, can play comfortably at the kitchen line, can reset the ball.

We will use the followin questions to confim eligibility and help with seeding Don't worry if you don't know your DUPR rating--most players who do not regularly play in tournaments do not have a DUPR rating.

A 3.5 player is a confident, tactically aware recreational player who has moved beyond just "keeping the ball in play." Their dinking is dependable and they can sustain patient rallies at the kitchen line. They have a serviceable 3rd shot drop or drive and know when to use each. They understand when to speed up and — just as importantly — when not to. They can reset a hard-driven ball softly back into the kitchen more often than not, rather than just blocking it back hard. They're comfortable with court positioning, understand stacking and poaching concepts, and win points intentionally through strategy rather than just outlasting errors. They may play in local leagues or casual tournaments and hold their own. This tournament is for players below this level.
